This team better get us a good PG, there are so many still available. Look I believe in McCollum, but the guy def. needs some competition. And no Ginty and Miles don't count!

Another Vozzola, on the same High School Team, Ryan is a 6'3 sophomore and put up a real solid season as well. Maybe they can be the next Raivio brothers!? Also a junior point guard on the squad named Aaseem Dixon who could get some D 1 looks.
I know we are all really turned off from the hype machine of last years recruiting class...but I think Ben Vozzola is going to be special. And we need him to be

basic interview but midway thru he says that he has narrowed his top 3 schools down to Baylor, Oregon State and USD. I know this was uploaded back before the new year but hopefully this still holds true. Anyways, Baylor making it to the sweet 16 and our mess of a season probably isn't helping to win the recruiting battle.

Some places have him listed as a shooting guard, but if he can evolve into a big PG at 6'5-6'6 this would get me on Grier's good side again.
D.J. Peterson seems like the type of person and player this program needs in order to get to the next level. I think it will come down to playing time for him, even though Baylor's starting G, Tweety Carter, is a senior this year. I think we can get him over Oregon St. though. They may have the President's brother, but they are also going to be buried in the Pac-10 next year by the likes of Washington, Stanford, Cal, and Arizona, maybe even Arizona St.

Grant this was filmed well before our season tanked, but the good news is that Baylor accepted an oral commitment from a 6'3 guard since this was taped. Oregon State has also signed a Point this class and is losing a lot of size, so it is possible those teams do not have a spot open.
Another name to keep an eye on, albeit a long shot, is current Northern Iowa commit Doug McDermott. I would be really surprised if Jacobsen staes at NIU after this year and we were really high on this 6'7 SF before he chose NIU. While I could definitly see him opening it up, I think the majors would make it real tough for us to get him this late

usd07,
You are officially a moron. You hear me...a MORON!
Sorry to be so abusive, but usd07 is further proof that numerous people on this board no nothing about college basketball.
Who did NIU just beat on Saturday?
Kansas
NIU ranked in the top 25?
Yup
USD?
Nope
Sweet 16 for NIU?
Yes
My point is, why would this kid want to come here over NIU next year? At least put an article saying he is not commiting to NIU or that this is your own personal wish.
NIU is not only a Sweet 16 contender, but if they can beat Kansas they can beat anybody, don't be surprised if Butler, St. Mary's, Xavier, Cornell, or NIU shock the world with a National Championship this year.

i wish this board had an ignore poster option that would automatically screen certain posters messages...

Take it easy, Blue. The guy offered his opinion on a recruit, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you disagree, then that's perfectly fine, but there is no need for comments like "You are officially a moron. You hear me...a MORON!"
Grow up.

i always thought the "Blue" in Blue USD was a nod to our school colors but now I think that it's just a reference to his general attitude towards life.
Turn that frown upside down!

Blue "cup half empty": If ever there was a guy in desperate need of being called out it is you. Is this the caliber of individual that USD produces? Wow, if that is the case then I am glad I did not go to college. I grew up in San Diego rooting for USD and now that I am in a place financially in which I can afford, I attend every USD homegame. You are the poster boy for a someone who didn't take advantage of his education. I guess it is true: money can buy you into a school. You are one of the most ignorant individuals I have ever encountered in my life, and you have the nerve to insult someone else? Almost everything you post is absolutely moronic, nonsensically written, and plain ridiculous.

Blue "but usd07 is further proof that numerous people on this board no nothing about college basketball."
...and you officially didn't learn how to use "KNOW" properly while you were in college.
Ease off Blue. I'm sorry but you really are getting on my nerves. Stop bashing everyone else and being negative just to spice things up. It's unnecessary and is not productive in creating a free flowing arena of ideas.
USD07 suggested that a Northern Iowa player may rescind his commitment to Northern Iowa if their coach leaves. Such a thought is not outrageous. Coaches who have runs in the tournament often tenure job offers from larger schools. Bruce Pearl at Wisconsin Milwaukee and Jeff Capel at Virginia Commonwealth both come to mind. Often after these promotions, a school sees a mass exodus of players, starting with commits slated to sign in that year. These recruits are given a release and their recruiting process is reopened. These players commonly see their options lessen. Large schools who recruited them originally have usually gone another direction to fill their needs. In a nutshell, a school like USD which has an open scholarship, is given an excellent chance to sign quality late in the recruiting process.
So anyhow Blue, nothing USD07 said was wrong. I'd say that I was surprised that you made such a statement, but quite frankly i'm not. You are the same bumbling idiot who thinks that we should be signing 5 star blue chips and spelling words like "no" incorrectly. I don't really have many positive expectations when it comes to your posts.

- I wish this board had an "I LIKE!" or "EXACTLY!" or "TAKE THAT!" or "STFU BLUE!" option.

Wow.
Blue- I feel like my thought process every time you post something is that I want to respond how ridiculous it is, how you are out of your mind...then I think to myself why would I waste my time arguing with a twelve year out who posts stupid things on a message board to get a reaction out of people he does not know.
Since you are calling me out directly, I guess I will humor you and justify my comments. McDermott's dad is the coach at Iowa State and was offered by a handful of Mid Majors, USD being one of them. I watched him play on ESPN against Waukegan from Illinois, his teammate Harrison Barnes is one of the best players in the country, and I thought he would be a perfect fit for the USD program.
Never did I say we were a front runner, just mentioning the fact that he was committed there and his coach is going to be one of the hottest names in the coaching carousel. So the very reason you thought he would never consider, since NI is in the Sweet 16, thus the coach is likely to leave and this is when they are let out of a LOI. Given your logic, since NI is such an amazing program and we apparently have nothing to offer, why did you just say DJ Peterson would be a great addition? He has an offer from Baylor, who is also in the Sweet 16 and plays in a power conference?
I understand you get some entertainment out of stirring up a message board , but I am sure you can think of plenty of negative arguments you can make that could atleast spark some decent discussion. The recruiting services do not cover USD like other programs, it shows about 15 kids that USD has offered this year. All the available prospects have been mentioned, bringing up one who is not currently available but has a good chance of the coach he committed to is pretty common place if you follow recruiting.
You can keep typing your nonsense and I really do not have a problem ignoring it. Most of the people are here to get information and share some opinions about a program that does not get much media exposure. You coming in to complain and exaggerate does not bring much to the discussions, I am sure that you can find plenty of other schools boards will people will respond to your name-calling and nonsense by arguing with you on a message board...maybe it is time to give it a try
