If USD wins this game they can clinch 6th place....which was what we were picked pre-season to finish....

Break out the bubbly...we met expectations.
I doubt T6 at 3-11 was what anyone expected from USD this season. A technicality yes, but we will be the 7th seed against Santa Clara in the tourney, by virtue of their win over USF.

Yes - a disappointing year to say the least. The players and coaches BOTH underperformed this year....no one should feel comfortable about their situation going forward. Thank you to the seniors for competing on and off the floor.
USD men's basketball has a lot to prove next year.....
Well on to Vegas and the WCC tournament....

To clarify: if SCU wins tonight then we are 7th, if SCU loses then we are 6th.....not a huge difference but let's root for Portland!

We are 3-11, SCU is 3-11. We split the home/away, so doesn't it come down to overall record? Unfortunately SCU has the tiebreaker because their record would be 11-20, we would be 10-20. Like you said though we are playing SCU so it doesn't really matter.
Anyways SCU is a beatable team, and hopefully after that our new found center Manresa can put up a game against Portland's bigs.

In the WCC, the first tiebreaker is head to head (we split). Second tiebreaker is best conference win. Assuming an SCU loss to Portland, both SCU and USD will have been swept by Gon, SMC, Por, LMU. But Santa Clara beat USF, giving them the 6th seed, not that it matters. By the way, no matter what happens in that Por-SCU game, the seedings are set for the tourney.
1. Gonzaga
2. St. Mary's
3. Portland
4. LMU (by virtue of W over Portland)
5. USF
6. SCU
7. USD

I guess Andy Masur has it wrong.....thanks for the clarification.

USD is the 6 seed actually.....again not that the match up changes...SCU vs USD.

I think we have a good shot at winning that game, especially if Grier goes with the same starting lineup that thrashed Pepperdine.
Unfortunately Portland seems to have our number though, and I can't see us getting past the Quarters this year.
