Unless Santa Clara pulls off a miracle upset of Portland, the WCC Tournament seedings are now set. Here is my prediction on how the tournament goes down:
First Round:
1) (7)USD 60 vs. (6)Santa Clara 55 (Re-match of last years quarters)
USD's Brandon Johnson is too much for the young Broncos team to handle.
2) (8)Pepperdine 65 vs. (5)USF 80
Pepperdine has no answer for Dior Lowhorn, as USF cruises to victory.
Quarters:
3) (7)USD 55 vs. (3)Portland 75
Portland runs USD out of the building in the 1st half. We have no answer for their bigs.
4) (5)USF 69 vs. (4)LMU 72
Will be a great game, but I think LMU has more talent. LMU avenges the regular season losses.
Semi-Finals:
5) (3)Portland 72 vs. (2)St. Mary's 85
St. Mary's has been there before and Portland has not. Pilots crumble under the pressure.
6) (4)LMU 79 vs. (1)Gonzaga 80
LMU takes them down to the wire, but Gonzaga pulls it out in the end.
Finals:
(1) Gonzaga 80 vs. (2) St. Mary's 86
St. Mary's avenges their regular season losses and not only knocks Gonzaga out of the WCC Tournament, but also knocks the Bulldogs out of Spokane in the Tournament.
